Later on as the city got bigger the lake clear waters have changed to the today brown waters and the boating has ceased to be. The restaurants have been originally built to serve those who came for boating.

Clifton, Karachi
Location
Clifton lies in the southern area of Saddar Town. Clifton has been a residential place of the rich and famous people of Karachi since independence of Pakistan. South of Clifton lies Clifton Beach, Pakistan's most popular beach. Many tourists or overseas Pakistanis who are visiting are often surprised to see that property prices in Clifton can be comparable to those internationally with certain residences that are spread over 2000 yards and belong to the elite, valued at around $3.5 million. However, due to the unofficial nature of property market in Pakistan, it is virtually impossible to support this claim with legal documentation.

Park tower
Park towers
Park towers is the only "mall" in Karachi. It has lots of shops (where it is understood you don't bargain). It has a huge McDonald's. It used to have a TGI Friday's as well, but it closed. It has a pretty decent food court. There's also an arcade and a kiddie ride place. It is the only big shopping place that is open on Sunday's (till 10 PM, I think). On Sunday's it's "Families Only" , meaning you can only enter if you have kids or females in your group. Guys who come alone or in groups will be turned away. Keep in mind, by Karachi standards, it's pricey.
